Removing handmade soaps from the mold without leaving any residue

When making handmade soaps, a common problem is that the soap sticks to the mold after pouring—especially at the bottom or in the corners. If the soap is removed from the mold too early, it can crack, scratch, or break. If you wait too long, moisture and mold material can cause pure paper or mold release layers to come loose or stick unpleasantly. These residues not only impair the appearance of the soap, but also increase the cleaning effort, prolong production time, and lead to rejects or rework.

It was important to our customer that the soaps could be removed from their molds cleanly, dimensionally stable, and completely—without leaving any residue on the mold walls or on the surface.

BRANOperl as a reliable release paper for removing soaps from their molds

Our solution is called BRANOperl – siliconized release paper that serves as a release agent. It is placed in the molds before the soap mixture is poured and forms a fine separating layer between the soap and the mold. After pouring and drying, the soap can be easily removed from the mold without sticking.

BRANOperl has excellent release properties, ensures that no soap residue remains in the mold or paper, and protects both the shape and surface of the soap. It can be used in various formats, depending on the size and shape of the soap mold, and is available with silicone coating on one or both sides.
